When they say leaders are not born but made, they are undoubtedly talking about people who volunteer. Besides offering an opportunity to express or nurture leadership abilities, volunteering for The Salvation Army Cornerstone Community Church helps stretch financial contributions further and quite literally makes possible our many programs and services.
To be effective in today's society, we need volunteers as never before. Throughout its history the Army has relied on the volunteer skills of not only its own members, but those in the community who support the Army's goals as it seeks to alleviate the most obvious and serious needs of those who ask for our help.
Without volunteers much of this work could not be done. It is through the efforts of people like you that we are able to build God's Community and give hope today to countless people who live without it.
You can be a hero by sharing your time, energy and skills with the less fortunate of our Mississauga. As a volunteer you will make an investment in your community and you will discover qualities in yourself you perhaps didn't know you had. You will share the joy and satisfaction which comes from helping people transform their lives through your help.
A number of volunteer opporutnities await at The Salvation Army Cornerstone Community Church. Every year hundreds of people volunteer at Cornerstone, making a difference in thier lives, the lives of others, and society.
